Sorry for the delay in responding as I had personal problems logging on, I'm too old to be any good at this computer stuff.
Anyway, if you are talking about the GPS signal your antenna could need to be updated, your unit might need an update or the antenna might be located too close to the unit. If you are talking about the sonar signal, then again check the software in the unit compared to the version of software on
www.lowrance.com. Update your unit if needed. If the unit is updated and you still are experiencing problems it could be your transducer. Check the transducer while you have the trolling motor out of the water. With the unit on in sonar mode place your hand on the bottom of the transducer and if you feel a light ticking with your hand then the transducer is working but still might not be receiving a return signal and transmitting the signal to the unit. If you happen to have a spare transducer, the next time you are on the water unplug your older transducer from the back of the unit and plug in the new transducer. Now hang it over the side of the boat into the water and see if you get a signal and can see the bottom. This will indicate the old transducer has been banged on rocks and other stuff too much or just plain wore out. The transducer is made up of a man made crystal incased in and epoxy housing and two wires silver soddered to the top of the crystal. A light electrical current is passed to the crystal and the crystal "jumps" in the housing and creates a click each time it jumps. Because this movement happens inside the transducer, it can and does wear out over time.
Please let me know how checking this stuff out works and then we will move onto other things to check if none of these ideas work.
